Golden bag is a type of polythene bag invented from jute. This process of producing polythene bag from jute was discovered by Bangladeshi scientist Dr. Mubarak Ahmed Khan. It is a cellulose-based biodegradable bioplastic, an alternative to plastic bags. 

This cellulose is harvested from jute. Eco-friendly jute polymer bags are 1.5 times more durable and strong than regular poly bags. If the soil is buried, the jute poly bags begin to rot and mix with the soil after four to five months.

 All types of polythene bags are banned in all supershops of the country.
